MENDOCINO CO., 8/17/26 — A newly built Amazon delivery center just north of Ukiah appeared to be operating on Friday.
After the previous owner of the property, Ross Liberty, sold it to Amazon in 2025, the new Amazon facility finished construction earlier this year. Now, gray Amazon–branded semitrucks and vans can be seen going in and out of the facility lot.Â
As previously reported by The Mendocino Voice, documents detail a 59,000-square-foot facility.
The facility features an expansive, sectioned parking lot with spaces for delivery vans, lanes for trucks to line up and unload at the bay doors and a section for passenger vehicles near a main entrance to the building. Â
Amazon was contacted several times for comment but did not respond by the time of publication.
Further updates on the facility and its impact on the community will come as more information becomes available.
this makes me so sad. one of the reasons they want to widen 101. a special area i hope to settle in, having trekked around for decades. there is nowhere out of the destructive reach of the mega rich.
Hopefully we see more Amazons in or around Mendocino county in the future. Every Amazon has conveyors and I get paid to service those conveyors and getting paid to travel to the backyard in which I grew up is a very nice perk.
Soon you will see everyday people pulling up in their personal vehicles, loading up packages and delivering said packages around the community. Really is a win win for people who order from Amazon and then for people who sign up to be paid to deliver those packages.
I get that it’s a balancing act between jobs and not having the world taken over more than it already is by Amazon and the ultra-rich-run companies that would rather drive down wages for extra profit than compensate people appropriately so they can afford to live in this world. You could still be super rich but slightly less rich and care about people. My concern is I’ve seen the new delivery people out in their branded trucks and uniforms. They are all running/jogging from the truck to the door with packages, phone in hand taking photos and logging deliveries. Clearly they’ve got some targeted amount of seconds per drop off they are trying to meet. I hope they don’t get injured trying to meet their quota.
It would be good to know how much acreage the site has because Amazon has massive data centers in other rural areas. Hopefully this isn’t the real plan.
