4.1-magnitude quake strikes near Covelo

MENDOCINO CO., 8/4/26 – A preliminary 4.1 quake struck 31 miles north-northwest of Covelo on Tuesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake struck at 5:25 p.m. and its epicenter was 13.5 miles southeast of Alderpoint by Island Mountain, which is in Trinity County.

There have been no posted reports of damage.
