UPDATE — The fire’s forward progress has been stopped as of 5:22 p.m. per units at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The evacuation order and warning will continue to be held for “numerous hours” while the firefighters continue their work, the Sheriff’s Office said.
MENDOCINO CO., 7/7/26 — An area of Mendocino County near Covelo is under an evacuation order and another area is under a warning Tuesday evening, the Sheriff’s Office announced.
A wildfire in the Covelo-Agency Fire area, east of Mina Road to Agency Road, has prompted evacuation orders for zone MEN-1COV14-A in Covelo. An evacuation warning has been issued for zone MEN-1COV14-B. Residents under evacuation orders are asked not to delay and to leave the area. Those under a warning are asked to prepare to leave in case they are ordered to.
The wildfire was reported near the 24000 block of Agency Road, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
