MENDOCINO CO., 7/31/26 — Triple-digit heat will return to Northern California this weekend into next week, and Mendocino County will see its share of rising temperatures, the Eureka office of the National Weather Service said.Â
Temperatures are expected to climb during the weekend and spike on Monday, then come back down into double digits for the rest of the week.
High temperatures are expected across the north coast region on Monday with a high of 102 degrees, while Ukiah and Covelo should see a scorching 106. Also on Monday, Willits can expect 94 degrees, and Laytonville should get up to 99 degrees.
Forecasters said heat can be physically taxing and lead to heat related illnesses or make existing health conditions worse. The weather service said it is never safe to leave a child, disabled person or a pet in a vehicle as the temperature inside the vehicle can heat up and cause death in as little as 10 minutes.
The weather service also advised checking in on the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and anyone without air conditioning to make sure they’re alright in the heat.
