MENDOCINO CO., 7/9/26 — Adventist Health will offer free sports physicals and school supplies at back-to-school fairs in Ukiah and Willits this week and next week.

The nonprofit health system with two hospitals in Mendocino County said it will host two back-to-school events where free physicals and backpacks with school supplies will be offered — one in Willits on Saturday and one in Ukiah on July 18.

Pre-participation sports physical exams are required by state law for all students before trying out for or participating in school sports.

According to Adventist Health, the free community events are designed to make it easier for young athletes to safely participate in activities they enjoy, and to support healthy students as well as connect families with local resources. The fairs are intended to help families get ready for the next academic year and promote health and wellness in the community.

The physicals will be given on a first-come, first-served basis and are valid for one year. No insurance is required.

The Willits event is set for Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Adventist Health Redwood Medical Clinic at 3 Marcela Drive. The Ukiah event will be July 18 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Clinic Building at 260 Hospital Drive.
