MENDOCINO CO.- 4/14/26 — A Redwood Valley man was arrested on suspicion of crimes related to domestic violence, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

On Sunday just after 12 a.m., a report of a domestic disturbance came in from a third party and deputies headed to the 1000 block of Skyloah Way in Redwood Valley. The reporting party said they got a phone call from a 47-year-old woman who alleged her boyfriend assaulted her.

Deputies identified the suspect as Rene Cabada, 50. He was located inside the residence but denied any physical altercation occurred between he and the woman, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies spoke with the woman and found there was enough probable cause to believe Cabada assaulted her, resulting in an injury. The Sheriff’s Office alleges they found physical evidence supporting their assessment.

During the investigation, Cabada allegedly refused multiple lawful commands and resisted by refusing to comply with deputies; he also allegedly used physical force to prevent deputies from taking him into custody. Eventually he was arrested and put in cuffs.

Cabada allegedly continued to resist and delay deputies during his arrest.

Ultimately, Cabada was booked into the Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of domestic battery resulting in a traumatic injury and resisting. He was being held on $50,000 bail but as of Monday night was no longer in custody.

  1. Anyone caught breaking the law in Redwood Valley should get a gift certificate to the Broiler to only be redeemed on the same night as the DA’s staff training dinner.

  2. Men need medication for their hysteria. Or should we call it testosteRAGE?
We need “care for him” clinics where men can get a shot to calm down during andropause flashes.
