MENDOCINO, CA., 4/23/26 — Milo, a seven-pound cavamaltipoo who is the canine vice president of customer happiness at Mendocino Tea Company, just entered the town of Mendocino’s mayoral race.

A Mendocino Village resident, Milo’s campaign promise is, “maximum fun for everyone, and a daily commitment to enjoying life to its fullest.”

Milo’s campaign manager, Karen Bowers, a local artist and civic leader, said that when she moved to the West Village of Mendocino, Milo came to greet Bowers with a warm nuzzle. Bowers convinced Milo to run for mayor of Mendocino after seeing him interact with folks around town.

“I am honored to be Milo’s campaign manager,” Bowers said. “As he readies himself for the campaign, tail wagging, Milo wants us to know that his platform is founded on maximum joy for all.”

Milo will be at the Second Annual Pup Palooza this Saturday, April 25, at Little River Inn, where his opponent, Bodhi, is also set to make an appearance. Both canine candidates are expected to give each other a sniff, as they will be representing their respective campaigns at the dog-centered celebration.

Milo is asking his supporters to contribute in his name to his favorite organizations, Mendocino Coast Humane Society, Kelley House Museum, West Business Development Center, and the Mendocino Film Festival.
