FORT BRAGG, CA., 4/15/26 — The body of the man found at the bottom of a steep cliff near Fort Bragg Beach Saturday was identified and next of kin notified by the Mendocino Sheriff’s Office. Although the coroner continues to investigate, initial observations at the scene were consistent with a significant fall.

The decedent was identified as Bjorn Miller, 37, of Yukon, Oklahoma. A GoFundMe has been started by Miller’s family to help with the cost of Miller’s funeral service and celebration of life.

“Bjorn `Bear’ Miller was more than a son, a brother, and a teammate — he was a protector, a healer, a leader, and a true cornerstone of his community,” reads Miller’s GoFundMe description of his life and legacy.

An autopsy was performed Wednesday. The manner of death will be determined when the forensic pathologist completes all investigative reports regarding the autopsy.

The coroner’s investigation was opened after deputies were dispatched to reports of a body found at the bottom of a cliff on Bay View Avenue. The decedent was recovered from about 70 feet down a cliff along the ocean.

The coroner’s investigation has not revealed any suspicious circumstances at the scene, and criminal conduct is not suspected.
