WILLITS, CA., 3/9/26 — What could be better than a steamy bowl of soup, some homemade bread and giving back to a local nonprofit?
This Saturday, Willits Shelter Action Group and Willits Daily Bread will hold their annual soup fundraiser to raise funds for the organizations and their initiatives supporting people experiencing homelessness.
On Saturday, the nonprofits will join forces to host “Sip Some Soup” at the Willits City Hall Community Center at 5 p.m.
Willits Shelter Action Group provides shelter and other resources for people experiencing homelessness in the inland area. Willits Daily Bread gives out four free dinners each week in Willits to people who may be facing food insecurity. The organization provides the meals with no questions asked — whether or not someone is homeless.
According to a flyer posted on Facebook, the organizations also plan to hold a soup competition and a silent auction.
“Taste yummy soups, vote for your favorite, and celebrate local flavors with neighbors. Enjoy bread and jams from Emandal-A Farm on a River,” the flyer reads.
The fundraiser will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Willits City Hall Community Center, 111 E. Commercial St., in Willits. Tickets are $15 for adults, $25 per couple and $5 for children 12 and under.
