MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA., 3/28/26 — Communities in Mendocino County gathered Saturday afternoon for the third No Kings Day protest, opposing policies of U.S. President Donald Trump and joining coordinated nationwide demonstrations across all 50 states.
In Willits, about 1,000 protesters marched Saturday morning, waving homemade signs and flags at passing vehicles while wearing costumes and safety vests. They voiced disapproval over issues including threats to democracy, immigration enforcement and due process, and civil rights and discrimination.

Ho hum. No one under 60 wasted their time with it. Just old white liberals who got off the couch and out of their recliners showed up for it.
They are trying too hard to be relevant in today’s world. Nothing changed. You could accomplish just as much by yelling at the TV news.
It just feels good to think it matters, even if it is only for a day.
IDK, I think it’s more serious than it looks. Not because these people are serious people, seems like most of them don’t even grasp the fairly basic reasons for most of the policies they are “against”. What is serious is where the funding is coming from. Supposedly $3billion (yes with a B) and significantly from China from that Singham dude. China’s rather deep involvement in funding liberal activism is a serious issue.
Comments from the typical brainless cynics that don’t actually seem to know what is going on. Maybe smoke less pot?
A Fox News Digital investigation finds the “No Kings” protests are backed by a network of about 500 groups with an estimated $3 billion in annual revenue, including communist and socialist organizations calling for “revolution.” A Democratic political advocacy organization funded by billionaire George Soros, is the lead coordinator for the protest, as well as, a network of radical socialist and communist organizations funded by Neville Roy Singham, an American tech tycoon and avowed communist living in China. So yep, you are right about the funding.
There will probably at least one more No Kings Day before the midterm elections and then they will quietly go away since it is actually just a political campaign rally.
So here is the plan: I will purchase several boxes of photo albums and set up a stand. I will tell people to take a lot of pictures and buy my photo album to keep them in. (I will double my money) I will say you can pass on your photo albums to your kids. Since everyone is over 60, it won’t be that far off. Also, since I am eco-friendly, the photo albums will be biodegradable, no microplastics, as they will most likely end up in the landfill before too long.
I would think, you – Dave, would be a) very familiar with large groups of angry people and b) would march for freedom of speech. Remember, it’s the right before the one to bear arms?
Aren’t you a tad tired of all of us being compliant but none of them are accountable?
Can’t we all agree on that and do something, anything about it? Has this county or country been for your benefit? Or just that of those who haven’t been held to account?
BTW, heard paranoia will destroy ya dude.
StrongMendoWoman: I for one, do not have a distorted sense of the importance of street activism for accomplishing change compared to America’s system of government. For example, “No Kings Now” means getting rid of our currently elected president (somehow) even though he has a couple of years left in his term before the presidential election. Also, I believe in our system of accountability, it is with voting.
Why is that fella holding an AIM flag? I thought Indians had bad immigration policies anyway?
The point is all kinds of people live here in the US. That’s why the AIM flag matters.
I agree it’s mostly old white people, but that’s just cause everyone else is busy with work and kids. Like busy in an all encompassing way.
Additionally, all those old white people probably had parents involved in ww2. Their childhood memories involve parents with ptsd, dead uncles, depressed mothers, and a family life that forced them to rebel and become the liberals that you won’t even try to understand. These people don’t want their grandkids drafted and the cycle to repeat. My grandmother off’d herself because military wife-life was brutal and depressing and her shell shocked husband became an abusive cheating drunk. Their kids (My aunties and mom) are so liberal and antiwar it would scare you. The cost of war on the home front is a people’s sense of betrayal, no matter what those peoples ancestry is.
If AIM and old white people are getting together, that’s kinda interesting really. Demographics be damned. We’re people.
I feel sure they started with a land acknowledgement.
Go get a real job… I hear they need cannon fodder for Trump’s war….
The troll thinks spamming the comments will force people to believe his BS, but most people either pity him or are laughing at his pathetic desperation.
Debbie knows what people are thinking even though they are spread all over the county and she has never met any of them. Just ask her about her magical powers.
Crystal Clear (Spiritual Karen)…I don’t believe the American Indian Movement would want just anyone waving around the flag, demographics or not.
Just my opinion while eating a bologna sandwich indigenously.
I mean, not all gays or old whites want their flags waved either. But some do. Deal with it. AIM hates the way Global Industrial Culture keeps trying to taking over gorgeous earth spots that nourish us all, in exchange for money that we can buy poison food with. What the hell? What do ya’ll want? You want Amazon* or THE Amazon? We should be thanking these old white people, who could be spending their golden years on a cruise eating shrimp, but who are instead STILL raging against the machine. When the rest of us just won’t put down our phones.
Kurt, the first thing white people learn when they are growing is that other races also have political diversity. There are left and right wing natives, if you can wrap your head around that. There are Trump supporting Mexicans, plenty. You can’t ask for protestors to be more diverse, than complain when they are.
Talking about these people being cannon foder is indicative of cival war. Congrats, you’ll get to kill your cousins soon you absolute monsters, for your corporate overlords. Your neighbors and nurses are who you will be ok with killing cause you don’t like people who say “this isn’t ok”.
I see the same pathetic MAGA trolls spewing hate & lies in all of these news stories about the ‘No Kings’ events. They must have a miserable life, to be triggered into toddler tantrums over joyful gatherings of local folks.
No Kings is just code for “we still haven’t gotten over Trump being president, so here we are again, throwing another tantrum.”
BTW, what is the exact opposite of make America great again? Yep. Revolution against America, hate America, and blame America.
Wow that was fun, we blew whistles, held up signs that said NO KINGS, we cheered, we laughed, the cars going by honked and gave the thumbs up! Now we can go home, have some wine and cheese, pat ourselves on the back, and look at ourselves in the mirror to see how virtuous we were today. Yay!
If you are worried, appalled, horrified by the fascist direction of our country, please consider registering and voting Democrat in the Primary, and the General Election this year. For more information, please go to inlandmendodems.org or coastdemocraticclub.org
This, my friends and neighbors, is what this is really all about. As I said before, its all just a political campaign rally.
Pretty sick and tired of these reporters of yours not knowing how to talk about anything except for protesting. How old are these people that are doing these articles? Did they lose their brains or did they never have them. Stop giving people that are protesting airspace and time on this newspaper the Mendocino voice. Most of us in this County are pretty sick and tired of it! Tired of your radicalness and tired of you acting un-American and unpatriotic and acting like a bunch of spoiled brats that haven’t got their way! Why don’t you ever tell both sides of the story instead of just one you little news people? Did you even bother to ask anyone that is not at the protest and never will be? Did you get a count as to how many millions of people were not at these protests and would not get within a million yd of them? Getting tired of this one-sided, biased, leftist newspaper putting this crap up there when it used to be a good newspaper but not anymore! It has gone one-sided where it used to tell both sides of the story and then you figure it out for yourselves. Pretty sick of this crap in Mendocino County!
I would like to comment to Crystal Clear. Those people holding signs are ones that went to college and never went to war. Don’t think they know what war is because they don’t. You might have a couple of veterans out there but I guarantee you they didn’t spend more than a year or two in the military and maybe not even have been overseas in a war. The people that are out there that are my age or the ones that their mama and daddy sent them to college so that they wouldn’t have to go to war because there was a draft back then. If they were in college full time they didn’t have to go to war. This is what we called draft Dodgers. Look it up there is a meaning of it. I would not look up to the people that are out there protesting because a lot of them never knew what it was to go without a meal or not have a roof over their head. Most of them were out there here and Willits anyway where about my age and there wasn’t very many of them. A lot of these people were given everything because their parents had to live through the Great Depression and World War II. They didn’t grow up for and honestly they could care less for their neighbor. They don’t really care that much about the planet except that it gets them more attention the louder they are. It’s more attention from people like you.
Those old people are children whose parents fought ww2. They suffered their parent’s alcoholism and ptsd. They were against war then and now. My father, a Vietnam vet, was there. His father, a ww2 vet, remained antiwar till he died because of what happens at home during and after wars. The real privilege in this life is having a healthy, happy childhood. War won’t bring that, not for generations. I would gladly hide my sons from fighting in a war. I would never encourage them to join the military. Draft dodging is survival, I want my kids alive and their mental health as intact as it can be.
I’m to embarrassed to protest, too scared of being hypocritical because I use oil like everyone else. But I’m glad there’s some oldies out there who have not forgotten how to say fuck you to the government. And for the record, my lefty leaning family said fuck you to Obama too. The corporations are our kings anyways, politicians be damned. They’ve got us infighting exactly like they want. Consuming, consuming consuming……… ..
More like complaining, complaining, complaining.

Karen: American fighting men and women of today will protect you anyway.
