MENDOCINO CO., 2/16/26 – MendoParks will oversee Adopt-A-Beach cleanups at four Mendocino Coast locations after becoming the county’s newest program manager, the nonprofit announced Thursday. 

The Adopt-A-Beach program launched in Humboldt County in 1979 and expanded statewide in the 1990s. It operates under the California Coastal Commission and supports ongoing efforts to remove marine debris and maintain public access to the coast, including the annual Coastal Cleanup Day.
