MENDOCINO CO., 2/26/26 – State Highway 175 is open again in Hopland after the Russian River flooded the roadway, resulting in a nearly two-day road closure, Caltrans said Thursday.

Highway 175 was closed from its junction with U.S. Highway 101 to McDowell Street in Hopland. This included the highway’s intersection with Old River Road south of Hopland.

The closure came as an atmospheric river blankets the area. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the river was over 18 feet at one point – it’s flood stage is 15 feet.

Caltrans asks motorists to track current road conditions at https://roads.dot.ca.gov/ or by calling 1 (800) 427-7623.
