MENDOCINO CO.., 2/11/26 — A Mendocino County jury found a Fort Bragg man guilty of assault with intent to commit rape, the District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday. William Hill, 42, was found guilty of a cold case assault with intent to commit rape and aggravated kidnapping, prosecutors said.
The case against Hill used investigations from the Ukiah Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office and DNA evidence.
Hill was previously convicted in 2022 of sex crimes involving two victims, one being assault to commit rape and the other being attempted penetration by force with a foreign object. DNA evidence ordered during the sentencing for the 2022 case led to the solving of a 2019 case involving Hill, according to the DA.
After the jury was excused, the defendant’s case was continued to March 20 for the prosecution to present any additional evidence to prove statutory aggravators, prosecutors said.
Hill faces life in state prison with the possibility of parole on the aggravated kidnapping, and up to six years on the assault to commit rape.

People from the community need to write a letter to the judge to punish this predator to the fullest extent of the law!!
