UPDATE, 2/19/26, 12:30 p.m. – Chain controls are no longer required on eastbound Highway 175, according to Caltrans.

MENDOCINO CO., 2/19/26 — Chain controls are in effect Thursday morning on eastbound state Highway 175, according to Caltrans.

As of 6 a.m., chains are required on Highway 175 between the control point near McDowell Street in Hopland and the Lake County line. Vehicles with snow tires or four-wheel drive are permitted without chains, but drivers are advised to carry them.

Motorists should expect winter driving conditions and allow extra travel time.
