FORT BRAGG, CA., 1/10/26 — More than 350 people gathered in front of Fort Bragg City Hall Saturday to protest the shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an agent from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Good was fatally shot during a federal immigration operation Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The protest on the coast was spearheaded by Mendocino Coast Indivisible, which joined advocacy groups across the United States Saturday for the “ICE Out for Good” Weekend of Action. The event called for accountability from ICE.
“We’re mobilizing across the country this weekend to honor Renee Nicole Good, demand accountability for ICE’s killing of Renee, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s terror,” Indivisible said in a statement.

According to Mendocino Coast Indivisible organizers, on Thursday, Jan. 8, more than 90 people gathered in front of Fort Bragg Town Hall for an hourlong candlelight vigil at 6 p.m., despite bitter cold and strong winds, to honor Good. Saturday’s action was accompanied by cars honking in support and people lining the street, most carrying handmade signs.
Mendocino Coast Indivisible joined a broad coalition of national organizations, including Indivisible, MoveOn, the American Civil Liberties Union, Voto Latino, United We Dream, 50501, and the Disappeared in America Campaign of the Not Above the Law coalition, in issuing a call for coordinated, community-led actions. Organizers said all events held under the banner were nonviolent and lawful.

According to organizers, Good was a mother of three, poet and writer who had dropped off her youngest child at school earlier that morning. She was seated in her vehicle when she encountered ICE agents during the operation.
Videos of the incident posted on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and shared by news outlets, show Good inside her SUV as officers approached. Footage and witness accounts indicate agents gave conflicting commands. As Good began to drive away, at least one ICE agent fired multiple shots into the vehicle, striking Good in the face and killing her.
Advocacy groups described the shooting as part of a broader pattern of excessive force by federal immigration enforcement agencies. ICE has not released detailed public information about the incident.

California Sen. Mike McGuire condemned the shooting in a public statement posted to Facebook on Jan. 7.
“The shooting in Minnesota by an ICE agent today was horrific,” McGuire wrote. “Donald Trump’s militarized immigration enforcement agency is absolutely out of control. Congress must investigate, act, and rein ICE in immediately. Accountability is absolutely essential.”

Thanks to all protestors, expressing their displeasure with their government. What a luxury! Some people discount protests’ influence upon our governance, but demonstrations have long been part and parcel to political change. And, imagine if there were no protestors at all, ever, and what a message that would send to those in power. Stand up and be counted, at every opportunity. Democracy doesn’t grow on trees. It’s actually our duty, as “we the people.”
Peacefully protest with a sign, YES.
Resist, interfere with, impede, obstruct or abuse any law enforcement officer or city police officer while performing their lawful duty, NO.
We the people of the United States not illegals in our country! You think you know the Constitution I doubt it very much otherwise you would know better.
An AWFUL (Affluent White Female Urban Liberal) is dead after running her car into an ICE agent who opened fire on her. ICE agents have the right to defend themselves.” FAFO
There’s way more to it than just “dropping off her youngest child at school” and then innocently being shot. There’s relevant evidence and opposing viewpoints totally ignored in this article. It’s insulting to readers to omit it.
According to Krist Noem, Good had been “stalking and impeding their work” all day by “blocking them in” with her car and “shouting at them.” She had barricaded her vehicle in an attempt to obstruct an active law enforcement operation, ignored agents’ requests to exit the vehicle and instead directed her car at one of the agents. Good actually then hit the agent, who was briefly hospitalized for his injuries.
Where is any of that? Where is the “due process” concern for the agent who fired the shots? Shouldn’t we wait for the investigation to complete before rushing into “mob law” and spreading false or incomplete narratives?
This is exactly what trump’s violent cult did on 1/6 – and far, far more. Did you condemn that too? Or were you part of it?
And even if one interferes with an ICE proceeding, no ICE officer is authorized to be judge and jury and kill someone. They need to follow the law.
And by the way, the trump admin is violating many laws and the Constitution as part of his ICE deportation process. Is that okay?
“Resist, interfere with, impede, obstruct or abuse any law enforcement officer or city police officer while performing their lawful duty, NO.”
Liberal democrats don’t want truth or the rule of law as we can tell by the article we just read. Send them all to Iran for a year.
Pertaining to “Trump’s violent cult on 1/6”, the facts are: 1. Those who entered the Capitol building without authorization were not armed, it was not a coup attempt, 2. The only person killed that day was an Air Force veteran, Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, shot and killed by Capitol Police.
As activists, in many ways Ashli Babbitt and Renee Nicole Good are alike and met the same fate. Caught up in a mob scenario they crossed the line and were no longer “protesting peacefully.”
Thank you so much for standing up and telling the truth about the situation because I can tell you there are a bunch of idiots out there in our County that don’t know the difference between truth and a lie. They get little bits and pieces from their gossiping friends and they think they know the truth and that’s just not true. Look at everything listen to everything and make sure you see the truth and not the lie that the news agencies keep wanting you to believe. Thank you so much for standing up for the American people and for ICE.
Looks like the Guest House and Town Hall. City Hall is on Franklin Street
This administration has yet to admit to any mistakes about anything. There’s nothing they can learn. Their actions are alway right, like children. Our President claimed that the ICE officer who shot this mother of 3 was run over by her car. Such an obvious, bold-faced lie, like a child. Where was all the concern for the safety of police officers on 1/6, or the rule of law? Hundreds of injured officers! Such hypocrites. Law enforcement officials have never before been allowed to wear masks, for very good reason. Only in authoritarian regimes do you see this behavior. Such madness. This is not the America that I grew up with, pledging my allegiance to. We’re neither free or brave, and there’s certainly not liberty and justice for all.
Let us play the “Deflection Game.” Before J6 there was May 31, 2020. Where were you and did you speak out so boldly when “peaceful protesters” clashed with police outside the White House? They burned the 200-year-old St. John’s Episcopal Church and were headed for the White House next but law and order prevailed.
Speaking of “hypocrites”, you don’t see any “madness” in any of that, eh?
I believe you might be mistaken. That would be the last 4 years before Trump took off at this time. Not one single time did Biden admit to ever doing anything wrong and Kamala Harris, well you might as well forget her because she was an airhead that opened her mouth and said absolutely nothing. Why do you think anyone with a brain never voted for her? Find out the truth about things instead of spreading more lies and that would help America a lot. Look at everything from all sides and then make your opinion but not until then.
I’ve seen Mendocino protest about gun violence in their 4th of July parade but they didn’t protest when Charlie Kirk was murdered, that’s right Charlie was not a leftist but killed by one
Laken Riley and many others who were murdered by criminal illegal immigrants were not protesting or hindering anyone from anything. They were just going about their daily business when they were BRUTALLY MURDERED BY CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS. These women were truly innocent of any interference. Why don’t you stand up for them? Why are you against city/state governments turning over vicious trespassers for deportation. You make no logical arguments.
A lot of us want ICE here in California!! If you people that think they don’t belong here, take the illegals into your home and you support them, pay their medical bills and pay for their education! You willing?? Doubtful. You want everyone else to pay for that! They came here illegally regardless of what you think they don’t care about assimilating into our society just taking it over and telling us how bad that America is. I love my country and I don’t give a crap whether you love it or not but it’s time for them to go home and quit costing us out the butt to take care of them and their little family. If you’re not going to support them then keep your lips zipped!
