MENDOCINO CO., 12/20/25 – The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory on Saturday for portions of Mendocino County, including the coast and the northern and eastern parts of the county.

The advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the weather service.

Southerly winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected, the weather service said.

The advisory includes the entire Mendocino Coast and most of the county, with the exception of Anderson Valley.

The wind advisory is in addition to a flood watch which is in place for the entire county through Monday morning. A river-specific flood watch has also been issued for areas surrounding the Russian River in Talmage and Hopland on Sunday.

“Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands,” the NWS said. “Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.”

As always, Mendocino County comprises numerous microclimates, resulting in diverse weather forecasts. More information about localized weather can be found at weather.gov
