UPDATE, 5 p.m., 12/22/25 – Highway 1 is open again near Point Arena. As of Monday evening, all state highways are open with the exception of a portion of state Highway 175 in Hopland.

UPDATE, 10 a.m., 12/22/25 – Caltrans confirmed to The Mendocino Voice that Highway 1 near Wages Creek Beach Campground north of Westport is open to one-way traffic control after a sinkhole resulted in an early morning closure of the road. Crews have filled the sinkhole and remain working on the scene.
