MENDOCINO CO., 11/28/25 – Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens’ 15th annual Festival of Lights starts Friday.

Every year, thousands of families and friends flock to the gardens to see a one-of-a-kind light show featuring thousands of glittering holiday lights, many displayed in vignettes with festive and fantastical themes.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the gardens located just south of Fort Bragg. The gardens comprise 47 acres of landscapes ranging from natural coastal bluffs and fern-covered canyons to formal gardens featuring a world-class collection of rhododendrons, heathers, succulents, begonias and pollinator-friendly plantings.

Santa Claus stands outdoors at night, waving in front of large agave plants illuminated by bright multicolored lights in shades of blue, pink, purple, and green, creating a festive, glowing garden backdrop.

The lighted displays offer plenty of photo ops. Guests can also mingle through the gardens with warm drinks and festive treats from the Friends of the Gardens’ Holiday Café. The gift shop will also be open. Santa Claus will also make an appearance.

Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens’ Festival of Lights runs Nov. 28–Dec. 21. Tickets and more information are available at https://www.gardenbythesea.org/fol.
