MENDOCINO CO., 11/21/25 – The federal Bureau of Land Management announced this week it has lifted seasonal fire restrictions on BLM land in the North Coast region and Bay Area.Â
The change announced Wednesday means visitors can once again enjoy campfires and use portable stoves at campsites on BLM-managed land.
BLM lands in the region include Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument — spanning Napa, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Yolo and Glenn counties — and North Cow Mountain Recreation Area in Mendocino County, among others.
A California campfire permit is required for campfires and portable stoves. Permits can be obtained at BLM, U.S. Forest Service or Cal Fire offices, or at https://readyforwildfire.org/.
BLM has also lifted restrictions on recreational target shooting and the use of internal combustion engines for off-road and trail use.
