WILLITS, CA., 10/10/25 – The Willits Community Theatre has announced its 2026 season, which will mark the nonprofit’s 49th year of presenting live theater in northern Mendocino County.

The season opens Feb. 20 with Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy “The Importance of Being Earnest,” directed by Maria Monti.

It continues May 1 with “Four Dogs and a Bone” by John Patrick Shanley, a dark comedy about the absurdities of Hollywood and show business, directed by Mathew Caine.

Beginning July 10, the theater will stage “The True Story of Wild Child Louisa May Alcott,” a new play by Daniel Rover Singer directed by Eric Ward. The dramedy explores the early years of the “Little Women” author.

A bold comedy centered on the discovery of a Jackson Pollock painting at a thrift store, “Bakersfield Mist” by Stephen Sachs, opens Sept. 18 under the direction of Jim Williams.

The season concludes with Peter Rothstein’s “All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914,” the true story of British and German soldiers who laid down their arms to share a Christmas celebration during World War I. Jeff Shipp will direct, with music direction by Janice Hawthorn Timm.
