UKIAH, CA., 9/2/25 — On the first Friday of each month, Ukiah galleries open to the public for an evening of art, music, crafts, and the occasional wine and cheese spread.

This Friday, the Ukiah Branch Library will participate in the Ukiah Art Walk with a new exhibit by local artist Diza Hope.

The exhibit, called “An Homage to Small Creatures: Spotlighting the Neo-Naturalism work of Diza Hope,” will be a series of the artist’s work on canvas and paper. Hope, who lives in Mendocino County and received her degree from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, finds inspiration in exploring the natural world of the place she calls home. Her work showcases the breathtaking plants and animals of the county, and the way that the natural environment reacts to change.

On Sept. 5, the library will feature live guitar music by Equinox with vocalist Gloria Strasburg and guitarist Randy Hood, and on Oct. 3, there will be a live piano performance by Deanne California. During the exhibit showcases, attendees can participate in a crafting workshop and purchase items from the book sale, hosted by the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library.

The exhibit is open to the public and a family-friendly event. For more information or to ask questions, call (707) 463-4490.
