MENDOCINO CO., 8/26/25 –– The 37th annual Yorkville Ice Cream Social takes place on Labor Day.
Benefiting the Yorkville Volunteer Fire Department, the event offers a chance to indulge in sweet treats for a good cause.
But first comes lunch.

Foodies can indulge in grilled burgers and hot dogs paired with classic picnic salads. Raw and barbecued oysters are also on the menu, as are made-to-order street tacos.
But ice cream, available in many flavors, is the star of the show. Root beer floats are also on tap, as are cookies, pies and many baked goods.
Bring cash to buy a late summer read at the book sale and join the cake walk for a chance to take home a freshly baked dessert. There will also be a silent auction.

Representatives from Galbreath Wildlands Preserve will be onsite with hands-on activities for all ages. There will be games for kids, too.
And it wouldn’t be a fire department fundraiser without a fire engine or two. The engines will keep the event cool by spraying water from their hoses.
The Yorkville Ice Cream Social takes place Monday, Sept. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Yorkville Fire Station/Post Office/Community Center at 25400 Highway 128, Yorkville.
Donations are still being accepted for the silent auction. Contact Lisa Bauer at theYCBA@gmail.com for more information. Contact Val Hanelt for volunteer opportunities at news@theYCBA.org.
