MENDOCINO CO., 8/26/25 — Hundreds turned out Saturday for a day of fun in the fog at the 49th annual Great Day in Elk, a fundraiser for the Greenwood Community Center.
On the Mendocino Coast, August is playfully known as “Fogust,” and Saturday was no exception, with the sun making only a brief appearance after the noon parade. The colorful parade featured Smoky the Bear, the Caspar Community Center, and a float just for dads, among others.
