UKIAH, CA., 7/25/25 — Grinding on Main Street (pulling up the old pavement) should be completed in a few more days.
Beginning next week, Main Street will be closed to through traffic for rocking and grading. However, residents and businesses will have access. Paving begins on Aug. 7, so the Main Street section of the project is slowly coming to a close.
As is Gobbi Street! Crews are almost done raising the irons — jackhammering through the new pavement to raise manholes to street level. Then comes striping and then comes peace!
Except (isn’t there always an “except”?), a small section of paving, which will be done at the intersection of West Gobbi and Dora streets from Aug. 8-9. Construction hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
East Perkins Street
Utility crews are working at the intersection of Orchard Avenue and East Perkins Street, with work needed to install new signals continuing through the middle of August. Trench work across the intersection will take place Sunday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Expect lane closures and use caution.
Work to demolish the easement along the edge of the Pear Tree Shopping Center and Chipotle will start Aug. 11. This work is being done so crews can eventually build another lane. No dates have been announced for the grinding and repaving of Perkins, though the city promises that most work will be done at night.

Never ending. Finish one project before starting the next. Live off Main Street and coming in and out is a pain instead of doing portions they did the whole thing, like why? Gobbi still isn’t done, but it’s been weeks now.
My guess is they needed to use the money by certain time.
