UKIAH, CA., 7/29/25 – A pop-up exhibit Friday at the Grace Hudson Museum will showcase the nature paintings of local artist Linda MacDonald as part of Ukiah’s First Friday Art Walk.
MacDonald’s works are a staple of the art scene. A self-described “eco artist,” MacDonald’s paintings walk a thin line between realism, Symbolism and Impressionism. Her paintings often delve into the textures that make up the natural world, with the bark of redwood trees a particular inspiration.
The pop-up exhibit of MacDonald’s paintings serves as a complement to the museum’s current exhibit “Art of Wonder” in which artists provide the visual interpretation of life’s great questions: “Who am I? What is life?”
“Art of Wonder” features works by Father Damian of Redwood Valley’s Abbot of the Holy Transfiguration Monastery, Fort Bragg ceramicist Sanya Popow, and German-born Anderson Valley artist Antoinette von Grone.
Musicians Clay Hawkins and Andrew Robertson will perform, and light refreshments will be available. Admission is free.
