Construction on W. Gobbi Street in Ukiah in July 2024. (Google Earth via Bay City News)

UKIAH, CA., 6/26/25 — The Ukiah City Manager’s office announced today that paving on East and West Gobbi streets is going smoothly. The soft areas on West Gobbi were dug out and the bottom layer put on. The top layer goes on tonight.

Grinding continues on East Gobbi (expect noise, dust, and debris), and night paving will continue through Friday night. There is a full closure of the State/Gobbi intersection from 8 p.m. Thursday night to 6 a.m. Friday morning for paving.

Both streets will have intermittent closures and be limited to one-way traffic at times through Friday. Once paving is complete, the remainder of the project in this area includes raising the irons, striping, creating an enhanced pedestrian crossing at the Rail Trail, and landscaping. Please drive carefully and avoid the area if you can.

  1. Mmm…. I think you and I have different definitions of “smoothly”. It takes 15 minutes to get into the PARKING LOT of Co-op/Social Services/Wells Fargo. And it’s kinda been a roulette wheel of what access/side street is even open. Not to mention how those who live in those apartments much be feeling.
Keep using that word. Maybe the meaning will change
