MENDOCINO CO., 6/30/25 – The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for northeastern Mendocino County due to dry conditions and gusty winds.

The first warning is in place through 11 p.m. Monday, followed by a second warning from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

The warnings are due to a 20%-30% chance of thunderstorms that may bring erratic winds with gusts up to 50 mph. Dry lightning is also possible.

These factors, combined with low relative humidity and warm temperatures, can result in critical fire conditions.

The areas under the watch include Covelo and Round Valley, and much of Mendocino National Forest.

The weather service reminds people to seek shelter immediately if they hear thunder.

As of Monday afternoon, no PG&E public safety power shutoffs are scheduled.

Mendocino County comprises many microclimates. Check the weather for your area at weather.gov
