MENDOCINO CO., 6/9/25 — Does your dog enjoy prancing down the hallway at home? Is he jonesing for Halloween so he can put on that sequined purple vest and jeweled crown? Well, he need wait no longer. June is Pride month, and it’s not just for people.

You and Rex can take part in a doggie drag show fundraiser for the Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County at McNab Winery in Hopland on Saturday.

There’s plenty of amusement for people, too. The Humane Society will give out swag—and accept donations—at the event, which features McNab Ridge wine tasting on the tasting room’s patio.

The Smash Daddies will be on hand to serve up smash burgers and a vegetarian option as well.

The eats and fun starts at noon, but everyone will want to stick around for the Red Carpet Show and Pup Pageant from 3 to 4 p.m.

Prizes abound: Most Glamorous Pooch, Best Strut, Most Creative Costume, and People’s Choice. Each dog’s $20 entry fee is donated entirely to the Humane Society, and so is a portion of the McNab Ridge wine sales at the event.

How can you and Rex participate? Register your dog at mendohumanesociety.com/events.

Strut Your Mutt! Takes place Saturday, June 14 from 12-4 p.m. at McNab Ridge Winery, 13450 Highway 101, Hopland.

  1. Well most of them are neutered or fixed ! So they are really neutral ! In that department!

  2. Omg does everything have to be gay? I mean if we’re all on a spectrum then what are we celebrating anymore? We might as well just have sexual pride in general. What the he’ll is happening?! Stay away from the dogs!
