Construction on Gobbi Street in Ukiah, Calif., takes place between Orchard Avenue and Main Street. (Google Maps via Bay City News)

UKIAH, CA., 5/1/25 — Head’s-up, drivers. The project to replace water mains and lines continues on Gobbi Street between Orchard Avenue and Main Street. Some blocks may be closed entirely. Flaggers will help residents and business customers reach their destinations, so plan for delays.

Once water main and lateral construction is complete on Gobbi (city estimates two to three weeks), crews will start again from Orchard and move westward towards State Street to construct sidewalk and ADA ramps (anticipated to take approximately a week). Paving is tentatively scheduled for early to mid-June after school is out.

Meanwhile, on Main Street itself, concrete crews are out on both sides of the street installing sidewalks and ADA ramps. Main Street paving will wait until after Gobbi Street paving, so expect mid-June for that project.

Construction hours are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Please drive carefully in these areas and watch for flaggers and crews.
