MENDOCINO CO., 5/22/25 – Artists and creatives looking to find inspiration in the ecosystems and cultural heritage inherent in the North Coast’s famed redwoods and coastline are invited to apply for the fall artist-in-residence program hosted by Redwood National and State Parks near Crescent City.
The program offers stipends up to $5,000 for artists to live and work in the park for one month, from Aug. 15-Sept. 15. Participants are required to donate at least one piece of work completed during the residency to the program and also deliver one public presentation on their work.
The residency program is a collaboration of the National Park Service, California State Parks and the Redwood Parks Conservancy.
“Participants will have access to the park’s diverse ecosystems and cultural heritage sites as inspiration for their creative work,” the Redwood Parks Conservancy said. “The program fosters artistic exploration while also promoting public engagement and a deeper understanding of the park’s natural and historical significance.”
Artists of all disciplines are invited to apply, including photographers, filmmakers, musicians, painters, dancers, writers and photographers.
Applications are being accepted now through May 30, or until 25 complete applications are received.
Full program details and application are available at https://www.nps.gov/redw/getinvolved/artist-in-residence.htm.
