UKIAH, CA., 4/14/25 – Rain halted road and infrastructure upgrades in the Gobbi, Main and Orchard street projects. Now that the weather has lightened up, workers are headed out again to make motorists’ lives challenging. Remember to leave extra time to get somewhere and be extra cautious around workers. Construction hours are Mon.-Fri. 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Here are the specifics:

On East Gobbi St., water main construction will be between Orchard Ave. and Main St. Traffic is restricted to westbound only on blocks with active construction, beginning at Orchard and moving west block by block to Main Street. This block-by-block activity will take approximately six weeks. Flaggers will be onsite.

On Main St., good news, water main tie-ins are now complete. Concrete crews will be working on both sides of Main to replace sidewalks and ADA ramps. This project too will take about six weeks. The new traffic signal installed at Main and Gobbi is currently on flash.

Wondering about West Gobbi? Paving was delayed due to rain and is now rescheduled for early summer. The Mendocino Voice will publish that schedule once it’s confirmed. For MTA buses information, call 707-462-1422 or visit www.Mendocinotransit.org; for more details on construction, visit the webpage at www.cityofukiah.com/ucrt.
