
MENDOCINO CO., 4/2/25 – The National Weather Service Eureka has issued a frost advisory for southern interior areas and a freeze warning for northern interior areas of Mendocino County for Thursday.
A frost advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday for the southern interior, including Boonville, Calpella, Comptche Hopland, Redwood Valley, Talmage and Ukiah, said the weather service. Temperatures as low as 33 degrees are possible.
A freeze warning is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday for northern inland Mendocino County, including Covelo, Laytonville and Potter Valley. Temperatures between as low as 28 degrees is expected.
“Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” the weather service said. “Take steps to protect tender plants from the cold.”
The weather service also advises that people stay indoors during frost and freeze conditions, especially older adults, children, outdoor workers and individuals with chronic conditions. Pets should also remain indoors.
