MENDOCINO CO., 3/15/25 – A wind advisory is in place for Mendocino County on Sunday, the National Weather Service Eureka said.

The advisory comes as a late winter storm drenches the region in rain.

According to the weather service, the county can expect south winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. The highest gusts will be on exposed mountain ridges and coastal headlands.

The advisory is in place from 2 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Inland Mendocino County may see almost two inches of rain, with Laytonville forecast to see the highest rain totals.

Gusty high winds combined with heavy rain can lead to travel challenges. Take precautions when traveling, especially northward, as our neighbors in Humboldt, Trinity and Del Norte are expected to see gusty winds, rain and even snow.

As always, Mendocino County comprises numerous microclimates, resulting in diverse weather forecasts. More information about localized weather can be found at weather.gov.
