MENDOCINO CO., 3/17/25 – The National Weather Service Eureka has issued a frost advisory for coastal and southwestern areas and a freeze warning for northern and southeastern interior areas of Mendocino County for Tuesday.
A frost advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday for the entire Mendocino Coast, from Westport to Gualala, and the southwestern interior, including Anderson Valley, said the weather service. Temperatures as low as 33 degrees are possible.
A freeze warning is in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday for inland Mendocino County, including Leggett, Covelo, Laytonville, Willits, Ukiah, Hopland and neighboring Lake County. Temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees are expected.
“Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” the weather service said. “Take steps to protect tender plants from the cold.”
The weather service also advises that people stay indoors during frost and freeze conditions, especially older adults, children, outdoor workers and individuals with chronic conditions. Pets should also remain indoors.
