MENDOCINO CO., 3/21/25 – A recall has been issued for a popular ready-to-eat beef stick product after metal parts were found in the packages, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said on Thursday.
The recalled packages are as follows:


1.15-oz vacuum-sealed packages of “CHOMPS ORIGINAL BEEF STICK MILD,” with an expiration date of 02-10-2026, and lot code 25016 printed on the label. The product subject to recall bears establishment number “6220A” ink-jetted on the package. These items were shipped to retail locations in California and Illinois.
According to the USDA, two consumers complained of finding pieces of metal in the package upon opening. No injuries have been reported.
The products were sold at Safeway, Raley’s and Lucky.
If you have the above Chomps products in your pantry, throw it away immediately or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Do not consume it.
