UKIAH, CA., 3/27/25 – Human remains that were found last Saturday in Ukiah have been identified as 25-year-old Angel Murguia-Martinez of Ukiah, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said.  

Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, sheriff’s deputies responded to a call that human remains were found in the 1800 block of Low Gap Road in Ukiah.  

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the remains were found by a local non-profit group that was cleaning up trash in the area. 

The coroner compared the remains with medical records for a known missing person in the area and confirmed it was Murguia-Martinez. 

Murguia-Martinez was reported missing in February 2024. The cause of death will be determined by a forensic examination.
