MENDOCINO CO., 12/16/24, 1:30 p.m. — A flood warning for the Russian River along State Route 175 in Hopland was canceled Sunday. As of 11:45 p.m. Saturday, the river was at 16.2 feet and dropping rapidly. It is expected to fall to 3.7 feet by Thursday morning.
A flood warning for the Navarro River near State Route 128 in Philo was canceled Saturday evening. As of 9:15 p.m. that day, the river was at 22.1 feet and is expected to fall to 11.3 feet today. The National Weather Service in Eureka stated it will drop below flood stage later this week.
The NWS issued the flood warnings for the two rivers at 2 p.m. Friday. In addition, there were flooding concerns in urban areas and locations with poor drainage, and an increased risk of falling rocks and landslides along paved roads. Rainfall in Mendocino County was expected to range from two to five inches through Saturday afternoon.
