MENDOCINO CO., 12/26/24 — According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Eureka office, the forecast for Thursday through Sunday is rain and more rain. In the interior, showers are likely today between 1-4 p.m., then becoming rain, heavy at times. NOAA reports that between one to two inches is possible. Friday is much the same: showers before 4 p.m., turning into between three-quarters to an inch of rain. On Saturday, expect rain. Saturday night wind gusts might reach 24 mph, so monitor outdoor furniture and check your livestock. Sunday calms a bit, with rain before 10 a.m. and showers after.
On the coast, expect less rain and more wind. Showers are likely today, with more rain tonight and winds up to 22 mph after midnight. Rain overnight could reach an inch. Friday is mostly cloudy but showers are possible. Friday night, Saturday, and Saturday night are all rainy, with gusts up to 21 mph Saturday night. Sunday is likely showers, slowing after 4 p.m.
As always, be careful driving, especially in windy conditions. Allow extra time to get to where you need to go. Landslides and downed trees are always possible with soaked ground and wind gusts.
