MENDOCINO CO., 11/22/24 – A portion of state Highway 128 is closed in Anderson Valley due to flooding Friday, said Caltrans.

Highway 128 is closed from its junction with state Highway 1 to the North Fork Navarro River Bridge just west of Navarro.

Motorists can use Comptche-Ukiah Road or Mountain View Road as alternate routes to reach Anderson Valley from Highway 1.

The closure comes as an atmospheric river continues to inundate the region with heavy rain. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Navarro River reached its flood stage of 23 feet Friday morning, resulting in flooding of the highway.

No estimated time of reopening has been provided by Caltrans.

Caltrans asks motorists to track current road conditions at https://roads.dot.ca.gov/ or by calling 1 (800) 427-7623.
