Peter Allen Peterson
May 17, 1939-Sept. 2, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, friend, and neighbor, Peter Allen Peterson. Known to many as Pete, he passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and love. He was 85 years old.
Pete was a lifelong resident of Fort Bragg, where he shared his deep appreciation for nature, especially his love for birds, the forest, and wildlife. A dedicated and skilled Log Quad Saw Operator, Pete spent over 45 years in his profession, embodying a quiet pride in his work and his connection to the land.
He is survived by his sons, Allen and Brian and brother-in-law, Bobby Anderson, who will forever cherish his memory. Pete is now reunited with his loving wife, Jeanann Peterson, his parents and in-laws, and his treasured brother-in-law, Tony Anderson.
Known for his daily walks around town, Pete was often seen with his best friend and neighbor, Jim Jeffries, whose companionship was one of Pete’s greatest joys. Pete’s family would like to thank Jim for being such a steadfast and caring friend over the years.
Pete was a longtime volunteer at the Fort Bragg Food Bank, where he contributed countless hours to the community. Among his many responsibilities, he was especially dedicated to evening food distribution and ensuring pet owners had access to dog and cat food. His kindness, dedication, and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.
Pete will be missed deeply by family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His love, friendship, and commitment to his community will remain forever in our hearts.
Services will be held on November 23, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Lion’s Hall, E. 430 Redwood St, Fort Bragg, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort Bragg Food Bank in Pete’s memory at fortbraggfoodbank.org.
