FORT BRAGG, CA., 11/9/24 – The Noyo Center for Marine Sciences is hosting a virtual presentation on Tuesday to garner feedback from the public about the design of its planned Ocean Science Center.
The Noyo Center plans to build the new science center adjacent to the Noyo Headlands in Fort Bragg.
“The 11.5-acre Ocean Science Center site is situated adjacent to recently protected coastal lands,” said the center. “Together the Ocean Science Center and Noyo Headlands Park will lead the redevelopment of a 400-acre former timber mill site spanning more than three miles of Fort Bragg’s waterfront.”
The planned science center will allow colleges, universities and other agencies from around the world to conduct research, including on the complex ecosystem and geology found in the area.
The science center project is led by the Noyo Center in partnership with Noyo Headlands State Park as part of the redevelopment of the Georgia Pacific lumber mill site.
During the presentation, EHDD Architecture and SCAPE Landscape will present on the proposed science center design and landscaping.
The virtual presentation takes place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Registration is required here.
