WILLITS, CA., 9/30/24 – Willits voters will have a chance to learn about the candidates running in the local Nov. 5 election at the Willits Candidates Forum on Sunday.  

The event, which will take place at the Little Lake Grange and on Zoom, will feature candidates running in three local elections.  

The first, at 4 p.m., is the Willits City Council election, which has three seats open. The five candidates are  

  • Matthew Alaniz, teacher 
  • Tom Allman, realtor and retired sheriff 
  • Gerardo Gonzalez, incumbent 
  • Robin Leler, public school teacher 
  • Saprina Rodriguez, incumbent and Mayor of Willits 

The 5 p.m. hour will start with the two candidates running for the single open District 3 seat on the Mendocino County Board of Education: 

  • Michelle Hutchins, educator and businessowner 
  • David R. Strock, parent and county planner 

At 5:20 p.m. the three candidates running for two open seats on the Willits Unified School District Board will engage with the audience:

  • April Lamprich, mother and businessowner 
  • David Lilker, retired teacher 
  • Dianne M. McNeal, incumbent  

Audience members are invited to submit questions in writing at the event. There will also be information available on local ballot measures and up ballot candidates.  

The event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Mendocino, Little Lake Grange, the Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition, Willits Economic Localization and the Willits Chamber of Commerce.
