UPDATED 2:41 p.m., 9/9/24 – The Sheriff’s Office is canceling situational awareness for the Lake Fire. The fire is contained.

UKIAH, CA., 9/9/24 –  Firefighters are responding to a wildfire near Highway 101 approximately one mile north of Lake Mendocino Drive according to a Nixle alert from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.  The incident has been named the Lake Fire.

The Sheriff is asking people to avoid the area.  

Smoke was visible from the Redwood Valley 2 wildfire camera as of 2:15 p.m.
