MENDOCINO Co., 8/21/24 – Parts of Mendocino County saw a touch of precipitation last weekend. The rain must have enjoyed its rare and brief August visit, because the entire county is expected to see precipitation starting Thursday night.

The cause? A rare cold front that is moving down from the Alaska Panhandle.

As a result, the National Weather Service Eureka (NWS Eureka) predicts that precipitation is likely in some areas starting Thursday evening. Friday will see the biggest chance of rain. Thunderstorms may be possible in some areas. Conditions will dry out by Saturday evening. Temperatures will be unseasonably cool.

Here’s the forecast.
