UPDATED 7:40 p.m., 8/1/24 – PG&E reports that power has been restored.

UPDATED 5:30 p.m., 8/1/24 – PG&E reports that crews are making progress and power should be restored by 8:30 p.m. tonight.

UPDATED 3:30 p.m., 8/1/24 – PG&E reports that crews found a damaged power pole and are making repairs. Power should be restored by 11:30 p.m. tonight.

MENDOCINO CO., 8/1/24 – Over 1,000 PG&E customers are without power in and around the Covelo area as of Thursday afternoon.  

According to PG&E’s online outage tool, the outage was reported around 11:18 a.m. Thursday morning. The outage is impacting 1,051 customers.  

PG&E reports that “There is an unplanned outage in your area. Our team is evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on.” Crews are on the scene making repairs.  

Power is anticipated to be restored by 8:45 p.m., if not sooner.
