WILLITS, Ca., 7/15/24 — A Willits resident who died in a vehicle collision on Sunday has been identified. According to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Julian Franks was killed.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP), responded to a vehicle collision on Valley Road east of Willits around 11 p.m. on Sunday night. The agency reports that Franks was driving a 1985 Toyota pickup truck that drifted into the westbound lane and sideswiped a 2022 Honda Accord. A 16-year-old girl was driving the Honda.
According to the CHP, the truck overturned, and Franks was ejected from the truck. He died at the scene.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
