MENDOCINO CO., 7/31/24 – Fire crews continue to battle the Riley Fire near Camp Noyo as of Wednesday morning.
According to Cal Fire’s morning report, the Riley Fire was first reported at 16790 Riley Ridge Rd. on Saturday morning at 10:47 a.m. It is burning between Fort Bragg and Willits on the border of Jackson State Demonstration Forest just south of Camp Noyo.
Cal Fire reports that the fire is 90percent contained. It has burned 12.2 acres, which is down from the previously reported 17.5 acres. This change is usually due to Cal Fire authorities mapping the burn area when it’s safe to do so.
Twenty-five fire personnel are working the fire. No structures have been damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
