The Mina Fire in Mendocino County north of Covelo is 100 percent contained, Cal Fire said Sunday.

The fire burned 98 acres near Buck Mountain.

The blaze started July 8 in the 97500 block of Mina Road, northwest of the unincorporated area of Covelo. By July 10 it had doubled in size to 98 acres.

One civilian death has been attributed to the fire so far, the family member of a man who told investigators that the fire started when a burn pile got out of control.

The family member, 66-year-old Dagmar Stankova, was reported missing after the fire started.
