MENDOCINO Co., 10/12/20 — The United States Forest Service is holding a virtual community meeting covering all management zones of the August Complex Fire this evening, October 12 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be live-streamed on multiple USFS Facebook pages, including the Mendocino National Forest’s Facebook page, and fire management teams will provide an overview of current firefighting activities, and take questions from viewers concerning all zones of the fire.
The August Complex is California’s first recorded wildfire that has reached over one million acres in size, and has been divided up into multiple incident management teams. However, tonight’s meeting will provide and overview of the fire from all of the different teams involved. As of this morning, 4,610 people, 90 crews, 377 engines, 42 helicopters, and 78 dozers were assigned to the fire.
