MENDOCINO Co., 10/12/19 — Two people died after their car veered off of Old Stage Rd. near Gualala Saturday night. The pair was found still in their 2014 Mini on Monday morning by a passing motorist
Diane Maxwell, 52, had been driving south on Old Stage Rd., just north of Gualala Court, around 10:05 p.m. Saturday night, with Alan Ricioli, 50, as a passenger, when “for an unknown reason” she swerved left, cross the double yellow line and went off the highway crashing into a tree.
On Monday the Mini was founded with both people dead inside. The California Highway Patrol notes that they do not believe that drugs and alcohol were a factor in this crash.

On 11/11/19, at approximately 1116 hours, CHP Dispatch was notified by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office of a traffic collision with medical personnel responding to Old Stage Road, just north of Gualala Court. While units were in route, medical personnel on scene pronounced both parties deceased. During the initial investigation, it was determined the collision occurred on 11/9/19, at approximately 2205 hours. A passing motorist on 11/11/19, at approximately 1115 hours, discovered the 2014 Mini east of Old Stage Road, just north of Gualala Court. It was determined the 2014 Mini was traveling southbound on Old Stage Road, just north of Gualala Court, at an unknown speed. For an unknown reason, the 2014 Mini traveled in an easterly direction over the solid double yellow lines and off the east road edge of Old Stage Road. The 2014 Mini collided with the base of a tree. After the collision, the 2014 Mini came to rest facing in a westerly direction, on its tires.
